The minions saw something before their friend went missing. They couldn't see what it was but this is their description. Can you figure it out?

 

It was furry, and soft. 
It comforted our friend, and give him a "hug"
It said it was used by young children, but some older people use it too. 
It is a collectible, and ANYBODY can make it.
It can come in various different colours, shapes and sizes. 
In the daytime it sits, alone, waiting for night in which it is not alone anymore.
